We were visiting my in-laws and it was sweltering in the house. Hubby and I took off our jackets, and my FIL turned up the heat. Hubby took off his sweater and removed my vest. FIL turned up the heat. We finally decamped to the back porch, and he came out to bring us a blanket.
My wife and I keep the thermostat down in the wintertime. We parade around in sweats. My son complained that we kept the house too cold. We suggested that he wear something more substantial than a T-shirt and shorts.
In the summer we keep the thermostat quite warm. We supplement with fans.
I can remember Christmases like that at my grandparents’ house. Grandpa would stoke the coal-fired furnace, because company was coming. Grandma was worried that we kids might get cold. Before long it was 80°, but everyone was dressed for winter.
A local restaurant, with large metal “pull handles” sent a woman to the hospital the other day. She burned her hands grasping the handle! Two others needed medical attention, as well. That is hot!

Well, you DO want the floor to be warm for the little ones.

It would feel more festive if you put on your Christmas sweater.

My electric bill is averaged, so I layer up in the winter in order to be comfortable in the summer.
