The secret, is to live within your means, sacrifice, and don’t spend needlessly, Mike! Somehow, Log Cabins of today aren’t what you think…a good place for you and. Mini…as “log” as you’re together….
Americans buy, buy, buy. It’s the American Way. Never satisfied, always searching for a dream that will never be fulfilled. Americans have gotten to the point that they buy houses like cars. A new one ever 3 or 4 years.
But then most American families don’t get along well enough to live like much of the world. Multigenerational households. Pride in their family business, being passed down/taken over from one generation to the next. Living in close proximity to their family and their work. But most of the rest of the world doesn’t see a need for owning multiple dwellings, lake cabins, etc. The Jones’s that Americans are always trying to one up are much fewer and farther between in the other parts of the world.
I did that. And don’t regret it one bit.Forest, lake, walks in the woods, wildlife, critters all around.Downside? Wildfires, tourists, idiot campers, people littering.

My uncle had a log cabin that he built from a kit. It was really quite plush when he got finished putting it together.
