There was a bankruptcy attorney in the next town that got done in by a client. Took the guys money, then didn’t even do a half-a$$ed job. Client lost everything, completely cleaned out. Made his dissatisfaction known with a baseball bat. My sister had to hire a lawyer once. Was so lazy he only got a fraction of what he should have won for her, then demanded she pay him ALL of it! Instead of paying him she called the bar association and reported what he had done. Don’t think he ever got a dime from her, and not sure he still has a practice anymore.
Agolf Twitler now says that he has to become “president” again to protect himself from the law!!!
When Donald Trump formally declares his 2024 candidacy, he won’t just be running for another term in the White House. He’ll be running away from legal troubles, possible criminal charges, and even the specter of prison time.
In recent months, Trump has made clear to associates that the legal protections of occupying the Oval Office are front-of-mind for him.
Trump has “spoken about how when you are the president of the United States, it is tough for politically motivated prosecutors to ‘get to you,” says one of the sources, who has discussed the issue with Trump this summer. “He says when [not if] he is president again, a new Republican administration will put a stop to the [Justice Department] investigation that he views as the Biden administration working to hit him with criminal charges — or even put him and his people in prison.”
On one of Gulliver’s travels, he goes to a land in which lawyers share the sentence of their clients. Made them a bit more careful in choosing who they represented.
The answer of “I don’t recall” is a dodge. In legal terms, it may question your memory, but does NOT allow for factual misstatements. This was well proven when Hillary Clinton used this very statement seventeen times, in four minutes, during a forced deposition.
When a person on a witness stand says “I don’t recall …”, that is an open invitation for the opposing counsel to present proof that (s)he does recall, having spoken with others about the subject of the question prior to giving testimony in court. Proving that the witness is lying impeaches the entire testimony.
In addition to impeachment of testimony, being proven to be lying under oath is a chargeable felony offense, as perjury. And a felony automatically qualifies the witness for exclusion from ever serving in an elected Federal office.
Is anybody ever convicted of perjury? I mean, how would you go about proving it? If Person A says X and Person B says Y, probably (at least) one of them is lying, but which one?

Lawyers are such liars that when they die, they lie still. It’s an old one, but I still find it funny.

The “amnesia” tactic is used because, unlike invoking the Fifth Amendment, it can be used selectively.

For awhile I worked as an expert witness and it paid well. But my contempt for lawyers grew so great that I quit doing it.
