He can’t be that bad, or Veeblefester would fire him. He’s just plain mean, and Brutus is his easy target. Of course, we never see how he treats anyone else.

Veeblefester could turn off a smile in under 5 seconds !

Maybe you should offer Brutus early retirement.

There’s one too many panels. Panel 2 should say, “Thanks Boss. See ya Monday”.

Not to mention the numerous preceding lousy weeks of work.

Makes me wonder how bad Brutus’ work was this past week, since he never even went into work this week. He hasn’t been to work since the first day of his summer vacation ten days ago!

When my supervisor wanted me not to come in, was when I came back from surgery, after being off on sick leave. The day that I came back, was where the timeframe where I had more vacations day than I was supposed to have before the year was up!!

maybe he should start giving him something simpler for him to then so he won’t fail as often.

Brutus is his own worst enemy. He could’ve just said, “Thanks, boss” and let it go at that, but noooo, he had to assign a reason behind the boss’s apparent largess. It’s as though Brutus is fishing for more complements, when he should know that’s very unlikely with this bossman.

Ah, I love Brutus. There are eternal optimist in this world, there are eternal pessimists in this world, and then there is Brutus, an eternal nincompoop.

Better not to ask and assume the former, then ask and get the latter.

Don’t ask, Brutus, just run for the door!

Oh, oh. One of those questionable schemes fell apart again.

Brutus – You’ll soon be leaving at noon Mondays. Way to wack em.

Ahh. The boss must really like him. He NEVER gives away anything. He just can’t bring himself to say it…..
