Nice subtle change from panel 2 to 3. Notice the subtle movements between them which may be missed if unobserved. In panel right after title panel, Garfield and Odie looking at each other and in next panel they subtly turn their look at Liz.
My brother Mark is half Irish and half English and looks it. He has very white skin and turquoise blue eyes. He now lives and works in Spain and has done since 1994 and as a result his Spanish is excellent. One summer he was outside a cafe having his lunch when 2 men in a table opposite began talking about how much they hated the English tourists as they were always so loud and the way they took over the towns in the summer and even worse the ones who settled here to live. They even pointed over towards Mark and made some disparaging remarks about him. When he finished his coffee Mark got up, Went over to those people, and in his fluent Spanish told the men that tourism brings a lot of much needed money and jobs into the town and they should be grateful as he was as he was the head chef in a local hotel. The look of surprise when they realised that Mark was not only a fellow resident but also spoke fluent Spanish was priceless.
It’s like when, in TV or films, someone insults someone in a foriegn language (or in English to a tourist) only to feel slightly awkward when the person they slagged off speaks said language
heh, nice spin on the “insulting a person by speaking another language next to them, only to be shamed when that person is fluent in the language” trope…hm, that’s a really specific name for a trope but I stand by it.
She’s a Brunette….since WHEN do Blondes and Redheads changeTHEIR hair colors to Brunette? (outside of hollyweird folks going for a part or people on the run or in witness protection)
This comic strip confirms that not only Odie can talk to Garfield (which he wasn’t able to before), and that Liz can talk to Garfield and Odie, and also means Odie is smart enough to think talk to Garfield, but also that pets could be able to speak fluent English but choose not to! (even if Garfield hinted to that on https://www.gocomics.com/garfield/1992/07/02). The lore!!!!!

Garfield, you really have no right to judge someone for their weight. After all, you’re not exactly in the greatest shape ever.

Garfield and Odie had better watch it next time, or Liz will recommend both a new diet plan.
