I have successfully passed as a human posting here on gocomics for well over a decade

Humans are wired to be gullible. Otherwise quite intelligent people will believe things if they get it from a source they consider ‘authoritative’, like family. But there are other sources of authority, however fallacious that ‘authority’ might be. Otherwise how would ‘influencers’ be given even the time of day?

I think its part of our inherent sociability, the danger being when someone starts to seriously manipulate it for malevolent ends.
