The only time i wear a suit is to a funeral. And i don’t use a fake handkerchief.

That, and a clip on tie….

And if you use a handkerchief rather than tissues to blow your nose all the time, then you are a plugger according to my wife.

I have found that a folded colored KN95 mask tucked into a jacket pocket is indistinguishable from a handkerchief for most people.

I never understood that effete custom, anyway. Everybody knows that pocket is reserved for a pocket protector with an assortment of pens.

What? Have social customs passed me by AGAIN?

I learned how to display a pocket handkerchief from “Are You Being Served?”

There is just as much truth in the statement——‘You are a ’Plugger’ if all your suits are too small’ ! ! ! !

My suit is over 20 years old and the pocket is still sewed shut. Always used the inside pocket for my hankie.

I remember getting a suit back in the ‘50s that had a fake handkerchief in the pocket that wasn’t even a pocket.

When I retired I got rid of all my suits, dress shirts & ties. In the years since, I have had to rent a suit once. Since I live in San Diego, there are only 4 or 5 restaurants that require a jacket, these are also the same ones that prohibit flip flops!!!

The piece of folded cloth stapled to a piece of cardboard. They should make a comeback with hipsters. Paired with a red clip-on bow tie.

I don’t own a suit but I do have a black jacket. I’ve only attended three funerals since 1999, all family.

Fake hankies for suits or tuxedos are simply called “pocket squares”. They get sold/rented with tuxes to color coordinate with the vest/tie/bridesmaid dress. They’re ridiculously expensive.

Late hubby wore the “decorative” (as I prefer to call the “fake”, lol) handkerchief most of the time when he wore a suit. I kept his favorite one after he passed on, as it immediately gives me warm (though sad) memories of him!

It was my job as a Catholic schoolgirl to tie my younger brother’s tie before Mass on Sunday. To this day I can still do so. Which was handy when I had a boyfriend who somehow forgot how to do so as he was heading to an initiation into a club, which required a suit and tie. He called me in desperation, and we met at a nearby restaurant, where I promptly and neatly tied the tie right there in the dining room, to the amusement of the restaurant staff and the diners! (And he did look very nice in a suit).
