Wow, still having problems with the semantics? It’s similar to black hole instead of massive black body; you know, defund instead of reallocate. Clues were given, be sure to pick one up at your earliest convenience.

It’s certainly true that the murder rate in Portland, Or. went way up. There were 90 murders in the city last year, when 40-50 had been the normal for years. What Mr. Ramirez will not point out, though, is that Oklahoma City, a Republican city in a Republican county in the only state in the nation in which every county voted Republican, had even more despite having a slightly smaller population. Portland and Seattle had much higher percentage increases, but that is because historically they have been among the lowest in the nation.

I’m a liberal and never thought “defund the police” was a good idea. Not long ago, I voted yes on a millage to support the police and fire responders.

Fox: “The murder rate was estimated to be 6.9 murders per 100,000 people in 2021 – just 0.5 lower than the 1996 murder rate of 7.4, according to FBI data examined by data analyst Jeff Asher and shared by the New York Times. It’s the closest the nation has come to the high-crime scourge of the early 90s.” It must be Democrats fault, right? Lowest murder rate states in 2020? “North Dakota, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island, and Wyoming all have murder rates that are under one murder per 100,000 residents.” Please note that four of those are blue NE states. Also, please note that the most trumpian states have the most violence in the 2020 rating (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._states_and_territories_by_violent_crime_rate) In fact, in 2020, per capita murder rates were 40% higher in states won by Donald Trump than those won by Joe Biden. (https://www.thirdway.org/report/the-red-state-murder-problem) Maybe the reasons are more complicated than party?

Increasing the fear and animosity among the population, along with decreasing disposable income and increasing food insecurity, is never a good idea unless increased aggression, and mob control, is desired.

Rambo-mirez wants all you good Trumplicans to go after the FBI as heavily as you can since the “defund the police” meme which was said by a very few Democrats has morphed into “defund the FBI, and then target them” as shouted by many republicans.

Surging crime in democrat run cities, and liberal District Attorneys that let criminals go without posting bail is one of the top 3 concerns for Americans, following Inflation, high gas and grocery prices, and people know who to blame for these issues.

Meanwhile the so called party of law and order want to defund the FBI because horror of horrors they did their job with a legal search warrant of the former president. Republicans have become a party of fascists and hypocrites who need to shut up and go away. They literally eat their own like Rep. Liz Cheney who has been defeated in a primary because she stood up against a lawless president ensuring that he never gets into the White House again. Also please note that we wouldn’t have so many dead Americans if we had Gun control laws that republicans continue to fight tooth and nail over their precious Second Amendment while destroying the First Amendment

The term Defund the Police wasn’t created by Republicans. Defund the police both the movement and the slogan were created by the Black Vision Collective after George Floyd protests, so please don’t blame us cause it backfired on the left.

“Defund the police” doesn’t mean completely. Take some of those resources and hire professionals who can handle so much of what the police cannot. Duh.

Two black guys who were tired of cops gunning down people once said, “Defund the police.” Once, and never again, and no one else ever said it. Yet magically, all Democrats and Liberals are now being accused of supporting the idea. How did that happen, I wonder.
