The CDC needed to get back to its mission and it is openly taking those steps. Bravo!

It didn’t help that the idiot in chief kept trying to grab the limelight and downplayed the pandemic because the economy was more important. Next time, America, don’t elect a moron like Trump.

At least the CDC head understands the old adage: “A good way to go crazy is to expect different results from the same behavior” Mr. Goodwyn.

Many, many soldiers died of cancers related to radiation exposure they suffered in the 40s and 50s because the military didn’t yet know or understand the dangers. Science is ever-developing. The point is to learn and try to do better. Try it, Adolph.

Perhaps the CDC would be better at its job if it actually followed the science next time. Many scientists tried to warn us that the CDC was wrong about so many covid related things, yet their comments were throttled by Big Tech.

So let’s get this straight. You’ve forced people to abandon their jobs and stay indoors, taking away their right to support themselves and maintain their self-respect. And you’re apologizing? How about compensating them? How about from your own pocketbook, since you’re accepting personal responsibility?

Mass murderer Trump totally ignored CDC warnings about covid and gleefully spread it around the country eventually killing over a million Americans.

I hate to agree with Al, but having the CDC come out with conflicting messages everytime something new was remotely suspected about Covid made the problem worse.

Al, you should definitely ignore and denigrate anything the CDC says, and do so forevermore. That way when the next big plague rolls around you’ll just croak and stop being able to undermine people who are trying to help, even though they’re not perfect.

Maybe if the right stops making it a political football it can do it’s job properly.

I thought Fauci’s advice, which was basically “Go into your backyard, dig a hole, crawl in, cover yourself, and we’ll let you know when you can crawl back out”, would indeed prevent spread, but was also incredibly self-defeating and destructive. And, I thought that the socially pervasive attitude of “let’s sacrifice children for the sake of the elderly and infirm” was very shortsighted.

How wonderful that Goodwyn continues to sow distrust of an organization that is trying to maintain the public’s health!

There is always dysfunction in government when hyperpartisanship clouds politicians’ minds and will not allow rational thinking, working together, and common goals.

I feel the CDC was coopted by the Trump administration to hide the effect and numbers of the pandemic, all in an attempt to make Trump look good.

The CDC needs to be as independent as possible and as apolitical as possible. Any communication with the American public needs to be transparent. Please refer to the many articles describing how TFG muzzled the CDC and dictated their messaging during the pandemic.
