Orrrr … you could donate it to an animal shelter or give it to a needy neighbor with a dog …

We cook a large stew of chicken or beef and freeze small portions for our dog. It’s human grade (I’d eat it) but totally lacks seasoning.

This is canned dog food. It doesn’t have to be eaten right away. It’s not going to waste immediately. Also, they could get another dog so that it doesn’t go to waste. And what did they do with Scout (since they are a zero-waste family)?

We always gave leftover pet food away to someone who had a pet.

Take the labels off the cans, add a sprig of parsley and you got some gourmet material.

I don’t have a pet, so I haven’t bothered to learn what goes into pet food, but I do wonder if it has as many “additives” as human canned “food”.

Eating canned dog food probably won’t make anyone sick if just a little is eaten, but the nutritional and vitamin content is different for dogs and humans, so continuing eating it might make people sick.
