“Quiet quitting”, the term sounds like some kind of perjorative dreamed up by employers concerned people might stop working for free (those “bonuses” don’t earn themselves)
I worked for a company that started having financial problems. They fired all contractors, froze all pay, cut vacation time, extended work hours, and cut off the free coffee.
The only thing anyone talked about was the coffee.
However, the parking lot, previously half-full till 6:30, started emptying promptly at 5:00:00.
40 hours doesn’t mean the amount of time one spends on assignments anymore, it’s the amount of time one spends in the employer’s spaces; whether on not one wastes the time chatting or internet surfing, long lunches, smoke breaks, etc.

Was quiet quitting part of Joe Biden’s Afghan exit strategy?

They should’ve scheduled the fight so it didn’t go into overtime.

So now we have a new “thing.”

Ah, “Quiet Quitting.” A term coined by employers who are disgruntled that they’re no longer getting more labor than they pay for.

Go home. Staying and fighting just encourages them.

They never pay me more than the agreed amount, I never work more than the agreed amount. If they want more, they’ll have to pay more.

We used to call that “work to rule.” You did the work stated by the rule.

You know, Wonder Woman could’ve taken care of that whole mess in about five minutes.

“Quiet quitting” = doing the job you’re paid to do. Boo hoo for greedy employers wanting free labor

I never heard this term before today, but two people — in two separate situations — used it today. Now I find it here. This is weird.

“Finish this First” is how it starts. Next thing you know, you’re working 80 hours a week.
