Rocks have fun!

Rocky stone, just waiting for the next ice age.

Finally gets out of the water and then this…

A skipping stone gathers no seaweed…

Just wait long enough rock. And who knows where you will end up. Some of the Rocks in the San Juan Island of Washington State, I’m told by geologists, started out in the Tethys Seas. And whats left of the Tethys is now the Mediterranean, Black, and Caspian Seas. Northern Scotland, North of Lock Ness, was part of North America, around New York. The same brownstone used to make much of the New York city in the 19th century. Is the same stone as used to build Glasgow, Scotland. So rocks can travel, in time, an amazing amount of distance.

Just spend ten thousind years getting ashore, and then some BLEEP throws me back into the ocean.

Reminds me of a Peanuts strip in which Charlie Brown throws a rock into the water. Linus shames him by telling him it took the rock a million years to make it that far.

Would you want to have a life span of 10,000 years?

Papa was a rolling stone – then he skipped out on us.

This theme appeared in Peanuts in the 1960’s with Charlie Brown and Linus, only Linus implied the stone had taken millions of years to get to the beach. Charlie Brown was chagrined, rather than the rock.

I thought this kind of thing when I kicked a rock into a storm drain.
