@Ling Today’s strip could be funny but I don’t know what it’s all about My avatar is a spoof about an airline pilot and co pilot too busy ogling the female cabin crew to notice a small aircraft going to crash into them , come passerai il vostro Sabato mio meno vecchio amicho? our Saturday should be quite calm no shopping to do or errands to run just stay inside the house and keep hydrated because it’s hot outside, but we both are in a good mood, , keep safe and a bientot pal
Today, 24 September, marks the fourty-fifth anniversary of the first issue of the short-lived comic Plug which lasted 75 issues before ending in February 1979 when it merged with the far more successful comic The Beezer.
The main character was Plug from The Bash Street Kids in the UK’s most successful comic The Beano. This version of Plug seemed very different from the one in The Beano as we never saw the other Bash Street Kids and only rarely saw his dog Pug. His main pet here seemed to be a monkey called Chunkee who wore a similar cap to Plug.
After Plug merged with The Beezer there was a strip in which Plug entered a diving contest and the announcer announced “As a result of Smiffy’s dive, the pool is now being drained.” I couldn’t understand why it was being drained and then I realised that it was referring to Smiffy the dirty boy in The Beezer rather than the other Smiffy who appeared with Plug in The Bash Street Kids.
Bought a 5 hp shop-vac because I have a lot of pets and even the vacuums advertising that they’re great on pet hair really can’t handle it. The shop-vac is relatively inexpensive, $60 to $90, very durable, can’t be clogged up, and is powerful enough to suck up a cat.
There is a British company called Dyson that makes commercial hand dryers, the kind that, after you’re finished using it you have to count your fingers. They also make vacuum cleaners for residential use.
Yesterday, I said that we never see Andy Capp without his cap just Andy’s cap without Andy Capp. I see today that someone asked me if I had seen a panel from Buster which was posted “about a decade ago” showing the back of Andy’s head without a cap. I have not seen that as I only started reading Go Comics in 2015 so this will be my seventh year of Go Comics.
I have seen the last panel of the last issue of Buster which was published in January 2000. Buster revealed that he’d been hiding his hair all these years because his hair was similar to another comic strip kid. He pulled off his cap to reveal a Dennis the Menace hairstyle.

Next frame: Capp himself sucked into the machine, and then emptied into the garbage bin!!
BTW, do they still make canister vacuums any more??
