“I warn you gentlemen, I am not to be trifled with. To pull the tail of a lion is to open the mouth of trouble and reveal the teeth of revenge biting the tongue of deceit.” – The Duke d’Escargot
I was playing with a guy one day who’s drive off the Tee went straight up and came down on the adjacent fare way and landed right in the middle of a golf cart. Both players dived out of it and the ball bounced straight back up. I almost busted a gut laughing.
the last time i ever set foot on a golf course was at the invitation of a business partner. i told him that i hadn’t played in years and wasn’t very good in the first place, but he insisted. the five shots i hit out of bounds on the first tee were the high point of the round…
You have quite the slice there, Brutus. Maybe Brutus ought to take up soccer. A kick like your golf hit would be quite the kick, that is, going from RB position to LW.
Actually that might improve golf. All 4 tee off at the same time, run and hit their balls as fast as possible, then count strokes and points for order of finish. Speed Golf.
Even the pro at the course where I worked wasn’t that good, Brutus. On a par four dog leg he tried to take a shortcut by lofting the ball over the woods lining the fairway. I heard the ball rattle around in the branches, before landing on the next tee.
Reminds me of an episode of the old ’60’s comedy “Julia” (with Diahann Carol) where Julia went bowing for the first time…threw the ball so that it wildly bounced across three alleys before (I think) knocking all the pins down in the wrong alley. Julia then jumped up and down screaming wildly, “A HOME RUN!”

And the foursome playing the 3rd hole weren’t too happy about the intrusion.

Is that what they call the wrong hole trap?

well, ya got a hole in one for next time… so you wouldn’t even need to play that hole. ;)

If it goes right it is a slice, if it goes left it is a hook , if it goes straight it is a miracle PTL!

Sounds familiar. I wonder if Art and Chip were the ones playing behind me and Jack.

My skills, or more accurately, lack thereof, at golf were only marginally better than our hapless hero Brutus.

Good ole’ Brutus Thornapple. The only guy I know I know that can hook a shot onto another hole while playing miniature golf.

Hey, a hole in one is a hole in one… ⛳

Dear Brutus: That happened to me……a lot!

been there, done that

If that happens in the PGA, the golfer would just yell: Mulligan!

You can always leave that little detail off.

Maybe he should play golf, like Yahtzee. Fill the scorecard wherever it fits.

I can understand Brutus’ problem. Mine always liked 180 degree turns.

Only two good balls I hit today was when I stepped on a rake in a sand trap.

Brutus’ honesty is impressive. He had a chance to keep his son all excited. Oh yeah, Born Loser.

He must be a blast in the bowling alleys.

I would put it down in my book as a hole in one, leaving out some of the unnecessary details of course……

So a good news (hole-in-one)/bad news (wrong hole) scenario.

that should count as minus nine
