Tried to add a wonderful Latin quotation, attributed to Seneca, about dogs. But Latin term for ‘with’ is on the banned list. Trust me, there was something witty to say.

Tomato sauce is supposed to help get the smell out, right?

Guess I am of the lucky tribe. Selective anosmia. A few things I can’t smell. Skunk is one of them.

Neutralizing skunk spray is not really all that hard as long as you can get the hydrogen peroxide… (which actually was not easy to get when my cat decided to get sprayed, but fortunately my ex-GF had a full bottle to give me and I returned her a new bottle when the supplies returned in a couple weeks.)

Real life situation here that occurred years ago. One of my good friends got married while still going to university. The newlyweds rented a mobile home that semester in a mobile home park near the university. Unknown to all, a skunk had died under the structure and decomposed to the point where it blew up. Everything in that mobile home was a total loss. Clothing, furniture, any material that could absorb the scent was thrown out. I don’t remember if the mobile home was considered a total loss. My friend tried to save a leather belt but when he went to church that next Sunday, people could smell the skunk scent. I So he threw the belt out. We ended up having a “newlywed” shower for them. It was hysterically funny and tragic at the same time.

I’ve been through this same thing. My sisters dog got sprayed, then she came over to our house. After a few minutes visiting, I went to the store. While I was there, a young lad came up and told me I smelled like skunk. Sheesh.

You clean up all of you and the house. Chemicals on the market that stops the stink.
