Get used to it, kid. It’s a pattern with which you will become familiar. School buses, promotions, raises, bonuses, and possibly the births of your children.
I get up at 5 AM to walk. On my route, I see school busses. Who sends their kid to school at 5 AM? I’ve also seen busses on the road at 6 PM. I hope it’s not the same group of kids.
What I always hated was being counted tardy for a late bus. I didn’t control anything about the route, other than being ready when it arrived at my stop, and still had to pay a penalty for arriving late? I got in an argument with a Jr. High (middle school) principle about that. Of course, a 14-year-old arguing with an adult authority figure probably didn’t help my case.
In Illinois, you get in trouble if you file your state income taxes late. But the government payments to businesses to whom they owed money was at one time running 20 months behind.
“Late” is a relative term, especially since you had to get there early to make sure you didn’t miss it, mostly reletive to how cold it is at the bus stop.

Remember, buses are always late, unless you are late, and then they are on time.

That’s because the school bus drivers are doctors in training.

Even on a freezing morning, with the wind blowing down your neck, it is better for the bus to be late than you. I won’t suggest it is more fun.
