This evening there was a bit of a breeze and many thousands of Ponderosa Pine needles hit our roof over the course of an hour or so. Nice little sound of pitter-patter. Better this year because we have a contract with a guy who’ll rake them up for a quite reasonable price…
If you’re out in that “needle fall”, though, you might find that they are pretty aerodynamic and can hit with noticeable force: Wear a hat!
Decades ago I listen/watched weather reports every day. Now, they show 7-10 days ahead, so I just check it about every 3rd day. Just enough to get an idea of what might change. If we lived along the ‘Atlantic hurricane line,’ I probably would be checking a lot more often.

We’ve had so little rain here. Would love a thunderstorm. Not a strong one however.

Thunderstorms can also create a colorful display of lightning in the sky.

As an OF, I prefer the old-fashioned, low-tech color like we’re having here and now in western Wisconsin.

I seems the trees here turned color in the last couple of days.
