When the price comes down a bit and the technology matures, I may buy an electric car for my wife. She drives her car only around town and it’s in our driveway every night so it can be recharged.

However, we grew up in New York City. I’m wondering how long the charge cord would have to be to reach 3 blocks away to where the car is parked? How do people in urban environments deal with this issue?
