You have to disguise the pill better than that…..

You crush the pill with a pestle and stir it into the food.

Just learn how to give a dog a pill. Not hard….the vet will teach you. Comes in handy from time to time.

The image of the lovable Buckles in the first panel ( lower right of the circle ) is just precious and it shows that he knows that ( something is up ) , the next favorite is the " ptooo ! " the the one that is the greatest is the smile and the prancing in the second last panel . Now that one is a ? , I can’t think of anything to say ? : ) Please help with that one : )

This is why you crush the pill into pieces and mix it into the food so that it’ll be hard for the dog to distinguish that there’s something hidden in there.

Had a chocolate lab who was amazingly adept at precisely extracting squeaker from a toy with a hole only as large as necessary. Her sister (who would eject medication, as Buckles does, in another room) would then tear the stuffing out of it.

Love the Pill Pockets. I have to give my senior dog 4 pills, twice a day, for arthritis and allergies. He’s a big boy so he swallows them whole.

My current beagle, #3, has flavored heartworm pills. I had to discontinue her flea and tick pills as they can cause neurological disorders, so I need to do pick up the drops that go on the fur once a month. She has always happily taken her flavored pills. Lucky me too!

Every dog I ever owned did that. The last four were all Akitas. Dogs don’t have a gag reflex. You pinch their cheeks behind their canine teeth and pry their mouths open. Then put you hand as far to the back of their mouth as you can and drop the pill. Then hold the mouth shut, gently, until they lick their nose. That means that they swallowed it.

With cats you find the pill under the couch a week later. We once turned the entire kitchen pink when the cat foamed the pill. Used pill inserters, massaging throat, pill in back of throat…you name it. Pill pockets finally did work.
