Videogames: The best distraction ever! And further more….wait! What was I talking about? I was busy playing a game at the time of this typing.

I realize that unicorn magic isn’t on the level of god powers, but they seriously don’t have an unsticking spell?

Phoebe ignores her parents a lot in favor of Marigold. I wonder if this is a “how does it feel?” episode.

If only Phoebe just went to the fridge in the first place without asking her parents for some butter.

Someone was saying just yesterday about the possibility that Pheobe’s parents might be somewhat neglectful, and that she could have a very sad life if not for Marigold.

Tube-slides are the menace of Unicorns everywhere. The tubular, serpentine shape deflects, reflects and saps all of their powers so that magic cannot be used when within one! Why did she take the risk? What a daredevil!

Hey, you come up with a reason why she didn’t just use magic to escape if you don’t like mine. ;-)

The enclosed nature of the slide blocks her horns’ ability to perform magic, much like lead blocks radio waves

Marigold stuck in a tube slide, that would be something to see!

Yesterday I mentioned the possibility if Phoebe is sad or neglected by her parents.

It was suggested that Phoebe is probably more involved with her parents than the comics would depict (since they are about her and Marigold) I have not seen much in the way of family-child bonding, except for whenever Phoebe plays video games with her parents.

but I think they could be very addicted to their games and the rest of the time Phoebe is quite alone to herself.

I could see where a child who grows up with parents who have no interest except drinking or smoking might also become drinkers or smokers because of how it’s an attempt to get closer to the parents.

I’m possibly blowing this way out of proportions, but what if Marigold was just a delusional crutch for Phoebe to deal with the world, especially because she is also bullied or ignored by Dakota.

Now Phoebe doesn’t appear to have any bad or destructive behaviors which would more strongly suggest that she was neglected like what occurs with kids who grow up in a silent family.

In fact it can cause RAD which I don’t think Phoebe has.

But we don’t know what Phoebe was actually upset about that day when she hit Marigold with the rock at the lake.

I’m thinking it was probably something to do with Dakota, but it could have been simple anger and sadness and feeling ignored.

Phoebe however was very possessive of Marigold early on and granted her freedom from the original wish as a Christmas gift, but in Unicorn Theatre Phoebe has quite a profound overreaction to Marigold spending time with her sister until Florence reassures Phoebe.

and does Phoebe choose to go to the camps or are her parents sending her away to get more time to themselves doing nothing.

now I think Phoebe has a fairly good life the rest of the time and I can be glad that her parents are thankfully not the helicopter or bitter nitpicky types as so many are.

What? No! You don’t butter your unicorns. The preferred method for lubricating pointy equines is definitely vegetable oil.

Marigold is stuck in a tube, and we’re seeing what the parents are doing? I feel cheated. Then again, perhaps my imagination can compensate for the missing visual, and is in fact more powerful—

    Nope.

All of the sudden, I’m reminded of the subplot of one episode of “McGee and Me” (if anybody remembers that show), where both the mom and the dad were distracted with putting together a jigsaw puzzle.

Reminds me of when (Disneyfied) Pooh was stuck in Rabbit’s house with his butt sticking out of the hole.

You would have thought that Mari would have learned her lesson after that time she got stuck in that tyre by the swimming hole!

Even though this is part of a story arc, this strip could be great all on its own!
