If you’re turning it down. Then i’ll bet it was your wife that turned it up.

Bought wife a really nice, thick blanket/comforter that fits into the 1975 decor of the house. Problem solved.

I live alone and I still have days when I wonder who changed the thermostat.

Someone once said; “A broken thermostat is right twice a day.”

Shouldn’t the wife be in charge? Seriously, a million years ago when we were first wed, I told my wife she is in charge of environmental conditions. Open the window if you want, set the thermostat as you want I’ll get by just fine.

Auto is in charge of the thermostat most of the time.

I met a couple some years ago now. She was always in sleeveless blouses and dresses and he was wearing the sweaters. I commented to him that it is usually the wife who colder than her spouse. He told me, “My Dorothy, she’s hot stuff! That’s why I married her!” They’d been married 67 years when they passed within a week of each other.

It’s usually the wife when a hot flash hits; down initially, then back up.

We turn it whichever way it doesn’t give money to the utilities. They are not our favorite charity.

No matter what the temperature, it’s always Sweater Weather for some. T-shirt and boxers for another. In the same household.

Good Lord yes! …we paid to have a programable thermostat installed and it’s been manually micromanaged since! There was one benefit though… the display screen shows nice large numbers! ;-)

He probably pays the bills… The wife probably does not. :-)

When my kids were in their teens, I put up a sign, “You may not touch the thermostat, unless you are paying the heating bill!”

I keep thinking there are some kids who somehow manage to fiddle with the GRAVITY controls.

I know of someone who put in a dummy thermostat for the family to mess with, saved him hundreds.
