The more subliminal parts of commercials are tailored to appeal to the ones who actually decide – here on the places to go. As teenagers are commonly the ruling class in a family the music must please them – not the ones who have the wallet. Those with the wallet are being pleased with “reasonable” prices, good access, parking, and probably healthy food.
A number of years ago, there was an ad on German television which had a family (parents, teen or preteen son and daughter) in a car and a song came on the radio. They all looked at each other puzzled and then shrugged and were bopping to the music. The lyric was repeated over and over: “I want to f—- you in the a—” (not bleeped in any way) and it was an ad to learn English.
Commercials are why I stopped watching TV. And on the Internet, I will disable my adblocker if you have fewer than five ads per page and NO animated ads.

Yeah, they should play something old and romantic and completely non-creepy like Girl You’ll Be a Woman Soon or You’re Sixteen.

We aren’t the demographic the ads are trying to appeal too, even though we spend the money.

There hasn’t been a heavy metal song about sex since 1991.
