A true comment about family dining.

Great family restaurant … plenty of service and the lip to go with it!

Her tip should be the same as you’d leave at home.

AND she walks off leaving a table full of empty dishes.

And why I don’t like having meals with family.

The word is spelled “whoa”

When something like this happens, a word to the manager so they will not wonder where all their business went. They want to know these things. Not tipping doesn’t help the problem. Although I certainly wouldn’t tip this person.

I would never eat anyplace that claimed to “treat me like family”. There is a reason I moved far away from them at age 18.

Honestly, that’s not the punishment you think it is. My least favorite part about restaurants is waiting to be seated, waiting to get menus, waiting to have them take our order, waiting for the meal to be brought out, waiting for refills, waiting for sauce, waiting for the bill, etc. Places where you can at least go get yourself some water (or that leave a pitcher) are better IMO. Now if I could just march in the kitchen and take what I wanted, well…

She’s in Amelia Bedelia mode — taking “family style” very literally.

My wife’s family has a tradition of designating a family member to get things for the rest of the family at dinner get-togethers, the “Jolly Jump-Up”. We tried that in our family, but now that the kids are older, we call it the “Grumpy Get-Up”.

The waitresses’ are all have brothers.

Zero tip.
