My dog pees in my front yard after dark. I stand on the porch with a long lead, and she goes and comes right back. As a result, all the male dogs pee in my yard, too. Plus anything else they need to do. Condos, small yards, all dogs are on leads, so their owners are allowing them even into my garden area where my own dog is not allowed to go. I dislike extendable leashes. Use your imagination and you will know why a neighbor apologized to me before I knew what had happened right at the bottom of my stairs. He couldn’t clean it up any better than he did under the circumstances, but why was his dog right there almost on my front porch? I wasn’t angry, but I try to be more considerate. We don’t have sidewalks, so my dog walks on the street part of the time and only a foot or so into any yards. We don’t have many other choices for a long walk.

Another reason it’s great having cats. They never go outside and love to look out the window.

Well if you would keep Buckles in the backyard your front yard won’t look like that. I take you Buckles, you are adorable!

Sherwood spaniel was not a diggety-dog, thank goodness.

That’s kinda like what happened in Calvin and Hobbes, but with snowmen instead of a damaged yard.

You should see their backyard.

That’s a lot of digging for a yard that doesn’t restrain Buckles with a fence. You’d think he would be the scourge of the neighborhood.

Land mines, yes – digging, no. That has been true with both my Rotties.
