The elementary school I went to for the last three grades was torn down years ago.
The junior high is still standing, but is no longer a school. They have other activities there now. But when I visited it as an adult, I was amazed at how well it was built, something I’d never appreciated as a kid. They really don’t make them like they used to.
Could be much worse building … a dozen kids could puke on your floors. Then the teachers in those areas spread pine smelling sawdust over the top of it & wait for the janitor to come & clean things up. (speaking from 12 yrs teaching experience)
Poor old building. It reminds me of my elementary school, which is no more now. Take heart, ole building, you could be a pile of bricks. At least, now, you’re sitting on a solid foundation while providing a solid foundation for a lot of kids lives.
What’s happened in the last fifty years or so that now there are so many people allergic to peanuts? Were there just as many back then but we didn’t hear about it, or are there really more people allergic these days? I don’t remember ever hearing anybody’s food allergies when I was a kid.
I’ve been reading Peanuts all my life as well as watching the TV specials and consuming other media in the franchise, and while I can remember the odd thought bubble coming out of the school, I don’t recall it ever being such a significant character. Is this a very short phase that Sparky went through?
Take heart, dear school building. You are dealing with the future generation. The alumni may pitch in to do furnishing. This time you would desl with pizza gulping grown ups instead of peanut butter tiny tots.

This is kind of a premature comic. I thought kids don’t have to return to school until next Monday? It’s still the season holidays.

Maybe the school needs to be institutionalized. Nuts !

That and since the custodians hate you, I doubt they would bother to clean them!

I don’t know about others on here, but when I took a brown bag lunch to school, I never carried it the way the Peanuts characters did.
No, it can’t be a “thing” local to Charles Schulz’s hometown, as I grew up in the same place. ;-)
Did anyone carry them that way? :-P

Peanut butter sandwiches? Now I know how the series gets it’s name.

This is a weird arc which makes me think of equally weird TV shows like “Mr. Ed” and “My Mother the Car.”
