I’m lovin the visual of each birds mannerisms. & how they’re all mesmerized/astounded/in awe in the last panel.

I just learned of a flightless rail native to Tasmania which the locals call “Turbo Chook” because they run so fast (chook means chicken, though they aren’t related). Imagine that!

This was a great chance for Will Henry to have fun with lettering: I like panel 7 best for the coloring of the letters.

Okay, folks, what bird calls or songs resemble Wallace’s calls? I think 1 is your basic house sparrow, 2 is a Canada goose, 5 is an osprey up close and through a microphone, and 6 is a cardinal.

Note that I said “resemble” — obviously these are all as heard through the wild imagination of Wallace.

Too bad the dodo bird is extinct. But maybe the cuckoo will answer?

I don’t see Seagull making disapproving remarks, hmmm.

If Wallace could record all the sounds , one over the other, It would be an interesting bird call.

Probably some bird at some time in world history did something like what Wallace is doing. He just does it with more flair and aplum….

When I was a kid, some friends and I would practice cardinal calls. One kid couldn’t whistle so he’d just shout, “FIO-FIO-FIO, FEETFEETFEETFEETFEET!”

Looks more like a modern song and dance routine.

They don’t seem to be able to entice the seagull.
