I was out back with my two Golden Retrievers one day when a squirrel ventured on to the property. The dogs set out to chase him in circles around the yard for several minutes. The squirrel never approached one of many trees present to make an escape. At one point he started down the driveway with the dogs in pursuit, but when they came to the pavement, they both stopped suddenly. The look on their faces appeared to say, “That was fun! See ya tomorrow?”

He’s hoping his disinterest will make you lose interest.

A meeting from home would never work for these two, the dog wants to use Zoom®, the squirrel is ok with Teams®.

That or he’s exhausted from the holiday season and doesn’t want to waste energy!

My granddog caught a squirrel, but then let it go. I guess it’s more the thrill of the chase that makes it fun.

Well, maybe the squirrel really doesn’t want to run. He’s curious about dogs and wants to “study” you (as a cartoon dog, that is)

I was up all night looking for buried nuts and couldn’t find any, so yes, I’m tired!

That tree has vaguely aggressive features, sort like an ent.

Har! (And another magnificent tree.) PS:—Ignore Doug K, it’s not hard to see why he doesn’t have many friends.
