Earl’s wrong about days seeming short when you’re a kid. Only some days seem short – the ones in which you’re having fun. Other seem very long like math class which I thought would never end.
When I was very young I imagined what The Future would be like, mine and the World’s. I would write out each Future year and think what would be happening then. Of course, my guesses were wildly optimistic. I did not write great stories, or become a concert pianist, or become President of the World, or the first Man on Mars — at least not yet — and time is running out …
The year 2023 was unimaginably distant, and I didn’t even write it down. But I was optimistic that there would be freedom and peace worldwide, led by America. (Sigh)
Everyone likes a holiday, so, I have launched a campaign to make my B’day a worldwide holiday. We’re off to a slow start, but, lets pull together and we can make a miracle happen.
All I gotta say is being retired is the best- worst time of my life. I love being home but am BORED to death! I retired @ 78 because of Covid…in 2020! ☹️

When you’re long in years, your shorts seem long, but when you’re short, you long for shorts.
Or something.

Earl’s experience is fairly common to many seniors. Retirement does that.

I’m long retired, but clearly remember those career days. One great solution was a letter from my bosses boss to their bosses boss.

When your middle aged the years seem short and the days seem shorter.

For me, at 73, both the days and years seem short.
