I suspect that Stephan Pastis has made a reservation for dinner for only himself. And had the voice on the phone call him a “party of one”. Probably that’s where he got the idea for Pig’s party of one, right?

I have a school friend who has a dance party Saturday nights, no guests, just him.

“Bachelors know all about parties. In fact, a good bachelor is a living, breathing party all by himself. At least that is what my girlfriend said when she found the gin bottles under the couch. I believe her exact words were, “You’re a disgusting, drunken mess.” And that’s a good description of a party, if it’s done right."

I had a party of one on New Year’s Eve. I had a big meal, listened to music, and ate snacks. Of course, I do that every day, so I’m not sure it counts.

Looks like Pig started the party already in the last panel.

If this was an Andy Capp comic it would be stout and crisps. And Goat would be wearing a purple suit.

I think it’s a good idea when planning a party to have foods and drinks that you yourself like.

The theme of the party is pairing cheeses with the right wine. And there won’t be anybody there to tell him he’s wrong.
