So, thinking way more than needed about this, when did we train Karl’s replacement? Skip is 10 in the strip, he’s been in school for years. If Bleeker meant off to college, then we are in the middle of a serious continuity error. Checked the website and noted it actually hasn’t been updated since 2016, with a link to back here. Sundays have been reruns for a while. Now I’m wondering if it’s just another GC in reruns with updated copyrights. I hate when they do that. I don’t mind rereading old strips, just like to know where I am in the timeline.
Hi everyone! Sorry for the abrupt change of storyline in the strip today. I started Bleeker in 2006 as a newspaper comic strip and as everyone knows the newspaper industry has been in a steady decline. The comic section has been shrunk or completely gotten rid of. Bleeker is pretty much an online comic now. So, free from the restrictions of that format I wanted to take the comic in a new direction…one that I’ve been thinking about for a long time but wouldn’t have worked (initially at least) as a newspaper strip. Sorry again for the abrupt transition! It was a combination of timing and not wanting to get into a complicated explanation (…plus I recently got a new puppy and he’s going to fry every brain cell I have left)I think robots embarking on retirement should be a lot of fun and the online format provides so many possibilities for creating new worlds. So a new beginning for the old gang and thanks so much for reading Bleeker all of these years! Let’s see where the next 16 take us!JM
I remember when Bleeker started, Skip was wearing bib overalls. I noticed because the boy in “Cow and Boy” also wore bib overalls. Skip soon changed to jeans and T shirt.
