It’s round like a pizza, not round like a melon.

    Big difference.

The proof that the world isn’t flat is that the people who believe it haven’t fallen off the edge.

Location and perspective matter. If looking at things globally, round. Locally the curvature is so little it’s perceived to be flat. Also, if you have a sudden terrain change, it can go from horizontal to vertical and then back to horizontal with results that can change perspectives of you;-)

Flat earthers have never been at sea and watched a ship come up over the horizon and slip back below. Experienced military officers can judge range by the amount of the ship below the horizon.

Oblate spheroid due to gravity in our rotation. There is no edge in a sphere.

Assuming that the earth is flat is often the best way to navigate.

Just as assuming that the world works by Newton’s laws is the best way to pitch a baseball.

Who knew MythTickle had so many fans of Sir Terry Pratchett’s Disc World?

They’ve turned the MythTickle world into a Disc with their Belief.

Well, what I want to know is, why is everyone saying “well” all the time in this ’toon? Is there a deep well of knowledge hiding all the secrets of the round-flat-round earth?
