Someone who is highly critical of state lotteries was interviewed on radio recently. The host brought up the saying “The lottery is a tax on those who don’t understand math.” But, the guest had some examples of people who do regularly play a lottery even though they do understand the math. They believe winning a lottery is the only way they have to the “American Dream.”
Probably the best way to make fast money is to sell stuff you no longer need/want. Of course, that probably will put someone else in the “oh gosh, I’ve overspent” category, but at least your problem is solved.
