    Should’ve specified non-avian dinosaurs.

I have a vague idea of what he said. That chirp is a mating call.

I once saw a lizard in southern Utah that looked like a T-Rex except for only being about six inches tall. It was fast though, and ran off before I could even reach for my camera.

Just be grateful the bird expressed his disapproval with what came out of his mouth.

Birds aren’t dinosaurs, but they evolved from certain ones.

Be glad they did not evolve from the BIG dinos. The pigeon poop would be horrible!

If Phoebe really wants to meet a dinosaur, she should look up a Lunella Lafayette.

Since birds evolved from dinosaurs, the egg came first, laid by the chicken’s immediate evolutionary predecessor.

If you want to see dinosaurs, come down to S. Florida. Iguanas are as prehistoric as you can get, and of course, there are alligators.

We know that pretty much all the dinosaurs… Except for alligators and crocodiles… were wiped out 65 million years ago in the last extinction level event. So if that’s the case, what was left to evolve into birds?

You should have been more specific about the type of dinosaur you were referring to, Phoebe.

You better believe it. Just look at cassowary birds. Or even roosters. I met one that drew blood whenever he pecked someone. I had to grab him each time to calm him down.

Come face-to-face with a cassowary, and you’ll have no doubt that birds are dinosaurs.

They have scales for a reason. Not the sort of reason that makes the scales necessary for their carrying on their lives, but because they inherited them from you know who.

oh, Phoebe was expecting a T-rex or a stegosaurus? oh, how about a triceratops which sort of like a unicorn, but with three horns!

    DINOSAURS AND BIRDS ARE RELATED

A majority of coelurosaur groups became extinct in the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event, including the Tyrannosauroidea, Ornithomimosauria, Oviraptorosauria, Deinonychosauria, Enantiornithes, and Hesperornithes. Only the Neornithes (modern birds) survived and continued to diversify after the extinction of the other dinosaurs into the numerous forms found today.

It isn’t a “belief” as Creationists say, the facts and data from the bones the genes the morphology show that. Also, many of the other dinosaurs had bird like characteristics.

Analysis of a shred of 68-million-year-old Tyrannosaurus Rex protein – along with that of 21 modern species – confirms that dinosaurs share common ancestry with birds, particularly chickens and ostriches, and to a lesser extent, alligators. PR 24, 2008

*The closest we come to dinosaurs specifically the ornithomimids and Deinonychus are the flightless birds both living and extinct. The “Terror Birds” were really dangerous carnivorous birds with an analogous body type.

Chicken is T-Rex’s closest living relative – Telegraph.

Yah, some people get all excited over saying that dinosaurs are still with us, but if it’s just because they’ve redefined birds as dinosaurs… meh.
