Fly Like a Beagle…

You were so close to flying Snoopy. You just missed it by a nose.

Reminds me of the Snoopy balloon in the Macy’s parade. Thanksgiving came early this year.

And I must say, I’m proud of Charlie for giving up on the kite. Accept that you’ve practised enough and just don’t have the knack; move on to another hobby. It feels a bit strange knowing this is definitely the last time he’ll every try to fly one.

When I was a kid, and tried to fly a kite, my dog would get in the way, too, but only by nunning with me and entangling my legs, not sleeping the day away on top of his house. You have only yourself to blame for your predicament there, Snoopy.

At least it didn’t end up in the sewer this time.

Ahh . . . March and kite season. Charlie Brown and his kite. One of my most treasured memories of the halcyon days of youth.

This has me feeling somewhat nostalgic and tempted to build a box kite. I think I might have an old roll of kite string someplace and some glue…hummm.
