Aha! Figured as much….

We actually had some snow this morning! And a very strong wind. And…it was trash day ( naturally) I’m going to be picking milk containers and newspapers out of my bushes again.

Oh, I don’t know about that! When they sleep on my lap, they are completely zonked out and I can’t move.

Today is:

SINGLES AWARENESS DAY. I love being single!

NATIONAL GUMDROP DAY. I have some cinnamon ones from Valentine’s Day. I couldn’t wait until February 15 to buy them because we sold out a few days ago.

NATIONAL WISCONSIN DAY! YAY Finally celebrating my home state!

That is incredible! Wish I could do the same.

Well they sure get a lot of practice

When my two sleep, they sleep.

All the better to keep an eye on Chesney.

I thought they were always keeping an ear on us.

Like most cats, ours can be sound asleep but the minute one of us in the kitchen, there they are – especially Blackjack. That cat misses NOTHING.

There was a study done recently that was written up in several places. They recorded a cat “owner’s” voice and set up some equipment in the person’s home so they could have the person in one room, the cat fast asleep in another room, and then play the recording in a third room and see what would happen. The cats would sit up and take notice.

The researchers assumed that the cats were really monitoring all along, in their sleep, where their person was and what they were doing, and so were surprised when the voice was heard in a different room.

I always wondered if instead the cat was just surprised to hear something different (with their superior hearing) in the electronic rendition of the voice and was wondering why their human sounded so odd, just like we wake up when we hear an unfamiliar noise.

That really explains a lot. I bet cats also have built in radar to detect when you’ve left your glass of milk unattended. On another note, saw twelve juncos, four varied thrushes, and two wrens while out walking today.

4 inches of white fluffy powder that I cleared off the car and walk shortly before dark. A steady drizzle has been “working” practically all day. The radio expects in the 50s by Friday. We stayed in today and for me, mostly caught up stuff online with very little “choring” around home.

We had a valentines day supper and lazy evening, as the gray and cold moved in with almost imperceptible snow starting.
