Why are the Dems so afraid? When did a House committee harm anyone? As for the likes of the FBI and IRS, they can ruin you in a heartbeat.

The QOP are mendacious to the point of wielding their prevarication like a weapon. They are selecting their targets and setting up their attacks.

Republicans have no plans to help Americans.

Republicans have to lie or they will cease to exist. In phone surveys, when people are given a choice on issues that affect their daily life, taken from both Republican and Democratic Party publications, those who identify themselves as Democrats agree with the Democrats about 80% of the time. Independents do to, about 58% of the time. The weird thing is that 42% of Republicans agree with the Democratic positions too, unless the are told which is which. Then they fall into line and agree with the Republicans 78% of the time. People who identify as Republicans make up somewhere between 30% and 42% of the voters, depending on the year. It’s currently way down. 78% of 42% is 33%. The Republicans would never win another national election with those odds. So, the Republicans have to keep as many people from voting as possible, and keep the rest of them confused enough to vote against their own best interests.

Most of them don’t believe their screed. Their actions and words are cannon fodder for their maga simpletons.

The GOP has a long and storied history of accusing others of what they themselves revel in. You can go way back to the 60’s-70’s when “LAW’N’ORDER” was their favorite screech. It’s nothing but hypocritical camouflage, but, as Barnum could tell you, it’s been known to work.

What does the GOPPPPPPPPP stand for? Literally nothing!

The drafting committee for the 2020 platform of the Republican Party initially decided that they didn’t want to (a) meet in person or for very long to do the actual work or (b) be perceived as lazy. So, using the pandemic as an excuse, they came up with the “brilliant” idea of just recycling their 2016 platform, changing nothing but the dates while claiming as a virtue that they stood for timeless ideas.

After a couple of weeks of ridicule, during which many commentators pointed out that the 2020 platform frequently lambasted “the current administration”, they decided to simply not have a platform at all. So what they are today is a Party without a Platform, Plan, Purpose, Principles, or Priorities, based solely on Personalities, Perfidy, and Power.
