I wonder why Gilligan did not show Poncho as the beloved pet. I guess he would be fighting the shark for dibs.
not your face, your leg or arm perhaps, but not your face!
Cue the Jaws music——dum dum dum dum…dum dum dum dum!
Well, at least his beloved pet is a fish out of water.
Note that, in looking at the first and fourth panels, his pet shark does move along the floor.
Sometimes your pet just wants your attention. If you don’t respond – ff other things haven’t worked, then …
I’ve heard of land sharks, but I always imagined something different.
Shark bait! Ooooo hahaa
Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all & my 75th birthday.
LAND SHARK!

So, is this toon colored in blue tones to indicate they’re under water? If so, how does the human breath?
If the pet owner dies and the pet is trapped inside with the body, it may just be hungry. Sometimes a person can die and not be discovered for weeks, if they live alone and have no family or friends
Cue up Nick Lowe’s “Marie Provost:”
Mary Provost did not look her best
The day the cops bust into her lonely nest
In the cheap hotel up
On Hollywood West, July 29
She’d been lyin’ there
For two or three weeks
The neighbors said
They never heard a squeak
For hungry eyes that could not speak
Said even little doggies have got to eat.
How does the shark survive out of water? Or is it a metaphor for a German Shepherd puppy?
yeah, nf
This one’s not gonna wait until you’re dead! Kissy, kissy! :)
He will chew on you when still alive.
If this were ‘The Far Side’, this would just be the last panel captioned ‘Trouble brewing’.
Paul, Paul, Paul. You should have at least picked a pet that could actually be in your living room, ON LAND! Why not an alligator?
