Scissors!

I’ve started having all kinds of trouble opening packaging lately, zip-locs specifically. Clearly there’s been a change in manufacturing. It’s the only explanation.

A friend says, “If there is such a place as Hell, then people who invent packaging need to be there.” I invoke Barb’s words at least once a week.

Opened a bag of “pill pockets” yesterday. Torn it from the right side – nope. Torn it from the left side – nope. Got the scissors out – Easy open, just like it says on the package!

Since my hands are somewhat arthritic, I just cut the top of the package open with scissors; which saves me a lot of frustration.

Scissors to the rescue! As for those little pill packets, I despise them! ‘Bend back the corner’? They jest. Again, scissors to the rescue. Me, trying to open a little bag of gummy worms that I got at the truck stop while on a trip? Again, scissors to the rescue. I keep a little pair in the first aid kit we have in the truck, I have scissors in the kitchen, the den, the bathroom and in the garage. You can keep your sliced bread as a major invention. I rate scissors high on the list.

He gets credit for knowing who to go to for help.

My favorite is stuff like packages for batteries with the scissor defying plastic thickness.

The look on June’s face says: ’I’m standing right here.’

“Easy open. Pull here.” Yeah, right.

I love the laundry detergent “pods” that came out several years ago. I do not love the bags they come in. It’s either that or plastic boxes that cost extra. I bought them in the plastic box at first, but now buy the bags, cut them open with scissors, empty them into the empty box, and have the best of both.

I’ve never had any problems opening those new fangled packages because I always check for instructions.
