Did you know that ever since the internet started reducing their book sale revenue, most people who receive Guinness World Records have paid thousands or even tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars to get through the approval process? In many cases, these have been funded by governments for propaganda purposes.

seems kind of sad that the star has to pay for the honor of being on the walk of fame. I always thought it was nominations by fans who paid too. I know Ralph Garmin did a fund raiser for Adam West’s star.

The Three Stooges didn’t get their collective Hollywood Star until 1983, years after they had passed away. I wonder who paid for that—-Maybe their surviving kids?

And how does a helicopter get sucked into a hole in Siberia? Is their something like a dust devil or powerful whirlpool vortex in the air there? Dust devils are associated with hot desert places.

I am thinking there must be some kind of dramatic temperature change or gradient affecting air flow above that Siberian diamond hellhole.

I just watched a documentary about Adam West and the thread running through it was about fans trying to get his name on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Apparently there’s more to it than just plunking down the money.

Typically, the celebrities are considerably wealthier than the people honoring them are. So they’re made to pay for their ‘participation trophy’, if it’s important to them to have one.

Well that does it! I’m not going to become a stardom person after all. No way am I going to pay for that sidewalk star! So… let me see here… instead of drama as a major I’ll make it something in the sociology category.. … that’s fine. ~ Fiornarda Plamrilfskiberghausenstien, hey my stage name was going to be Pi…well, because it’s important and the Foundation of The Universe.. at least that’s what my math teacher told us

Take care, may hard-sell jewelry shop owner Joseph “We Get Our Rubies And Sapphires from Asia And Our Diamonds From That Plastics Factory Across Town No They’re Real Of Course The Best” Loxord be with you, and gesundheit.

Actually, celebrities are not required to personally pay to have their Star placed on the Walk of Fame. There is a fee for placing a star. The money goes to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to pay for creating and installing the star, a dedication ceremony, and the star’s upkeep.

Anyone can nominate a celebrity. The money does not have to come from the celebrity or one individual. However, the celebrity or their personal representative (in case of deceased celebrities or ones no longer capable of making decisions for themselves) must agree to have the star placed on the Walk of Fame, and to take part in a dedication ceremony. The agreement must be included with the nomination for it to be considered.

The current cost is $55,000 to place a star. After a nomination has been made, the ceremony must be held within 5 years. If it isn’t scheduled within that time frame, then a new nomination (and fee) must be submitted to the Chamber of Commerce.

In Arizona, United States, the pilot of a Cessna decided to fly low over Meteor Crater. The air currents at the rim prevented the plane from being able to climb out, and it crashed.

the Hollywood walk of fame section is kind of misleading, while yes, a majority of celebrities pay for their star, the money paid is for upkeep of their star, also others pay for the star for example it took weird al fans over 10 years just to raise the funds for him possibly getting a star, good thing the nominating board accepted his nomination.

And why shouldn’t celebrities (famous for being fa5) pay for their own star?
