Around my neighborhood I believe cats are nocturnal and do most of their prowling and caterwauling at night! That is because I can hear their meowing and hissing in the wee hours of the morning! Be afraid, be very afraid, Snoopy.
Swifts and some other birds actually do this, in a way. They hunt, eat, sleep and even mate on the wing. Apparently half of the brain sleeps while the other is awake and working.
Trivia fact of the day: Dolphins do not sleep entirely. At least one half of their brain is awake at all times. When they rest, they sort of shut down an engine and cruise.
Snoopy should just keep both eyes closed, but both ears open. Even with both eyes open, the cat might come from behind, but hearing is more omnidirectional.
Whales have to surface to breath, so sleeping as land animals do can be dangerous for them. So, when they sleep, half their brain is awake and half asleep. The sleeping half awakens, and the awake half goes to sleep. In addition to allowing them to breath safely, it also allows them to be alert to hazards.
Ask a bear to stay with you, Snoopy. No one will hurt you. We are peaceful and good comrades, just occasionally have a sheep for breakfast. We don‘t eat cats, but they don‘t know that.

His eye with a ring around it reminds me of Pete the Dog from the old Our Gang/Little Rascals comedy shorts.
