Ya know, whenever I start thinking that the Gasoline Alley story arcs are getting a bit too absurd, I simply remind myself that Crankshaft still exists.
If a back yard grill launched into space is enough to alter the course of an asteroid, then it must be a pretty small asteroid to begin with which means it will burn up on entry to the Earths atmosphere long before it hits the ground. So at the end of the day, its a non-event. So his reaction is spot on with “meh”….

Would you like to see how it’s done?
Come out to the back yard and I’ll show you
The new grill is bigger, it should make quite an impact

It’s funny that people think a 30 pound grill, at any speed, will affect the course of an umpty-million ton asteroid enough to matter.

“How do you feel about” is the go to question when you don’t have a question.

Considering the impending bad Earth outcome, that was a particularly coaled response.
