Well, if the point was to teach her a lesson the public humiliation of the evacuation should do it… But I still want to know how Nicole can distinguish between between a candle and an air freshener at 500 yards and seven flights of stairs. Mutant power?
I think calling out fire engines for someone burning a candle would probably p-off the fire department. Especially if they had to get out the crane ladder.
In my grad school, our class was held on the 16th floor of a bank (NCCU was leasing it while the library was redone). One evening, we heard fire trucks, then a fire alarm. One of my class mates looked out the window and said "Look, there are fire trucks down there! now the fighters are laying out hose, now they are attaching the hose to the fire hydrant. Our professor took off at this point. We students stayed put. Our narrator kept up the color commentary. After 10 minutes or so, one of the students brought up the possibility of us trying to leave the building. A vote was taken. We decided to stay put. Way to far to walk down the stairs. Besides, we would be walking INTO the fire. So we formed study groups to go over the principles of cataloging. After two hours, it was all over, our professor came back and asked why didn’t we leave? None of us had a really good answer.

“I’m not walking down ten flights”..
Anyone else wish tall buildings had emergency waterslides? Get down to the ground fast and have fun at the same time.

Maybe she’ll learn a lesson from this. Maybe.

What kind of candle is she burning that A) they could smell it in the lobby B) constitutes a fire hazard?
I wonder how smug Marcy will feel when Dana (rightfully) reams her out for the cost of this little “lesson?”

I’ve had to do some fire drills in my apartment. You wouldn’t believe all the stairs I had climb down.

Yep. A bit extreme, but this could make her stop burning a candle in her office.

The windows on the 10th floor would not open. Safety risk to the patients.
