You could call the back of the super organism, Mother Nature. Just think, to stay alive, where do you get your food? You canât actually, like a tree, photosynthesize your food from sunlight.
Maybe the Earth would like us better if we treated the Earth with more respect.
The Earth is an incredible organism that, given enough time, can do a lot to heal itself; unfortunately, we keep doing more damage to her faster than she can heal herself. Personally, I have hope that we can grow up enough, or wise up enough to do what needs to be done to save the only home that we currently have.
The planet has been here four and a half billion years, weâve been here what? 100,000? Maybe 200,000? and we have the conceit to think that somehow, weâre a threat? The planet has been through a lot worse than us. Been through all kinds of things worse than us: been through earthquakes, volcanoes, plate tectonics, continental drifts, solar flares, sunspots, magnetic storms, the magnetic reversal of the poles, hundreds of thousands of years of bombardment by comets and asteroids and meteors, worldwide floods, tidal waves, worldwide fires, erosion, cosmic rays, and recurring ice ages. If itâs true that plastic is not degradable, well, the planet will simply incorporate plastic into a new paradigm: The Earth plus Plastic. The Earth probably sees plastic as just another one of its children. Could be the only reason the Earth allowed us to be spawned from it in the first place: it wanted plastic for itself, didnât know how to make it, needed us. Could be the answer to our age-old philosophical question: âWhy are we here?â PLASTIC!!!

Sometimes I also have the strange feeling, earth does anything to get rid of us. Covid, Climate etc.But earth is no organism (like gaia-theory).

In a way the Earth is alive, so true. And we are parasites of this host planet as we could not survive without it.
