Why has there not been an FBI investigation into where the NRA is getting their funds from? Another should be into who the NRA gives the money to and to publish those names and amounts. I’m sure it will all be to spineless politicians, NAME NAMES please!

Well, of course. Books are dangerous.

But guns make us safer. We don’t yet know how many guns it will take to make us safe, but we know we need more.

This is a difficult debate to capture well with pen and ink. Your line says it masterfully.

This is a sad state of affairs. At least my adopted state has it right.

I even wonder why there are still editorals about this or shootings. It is so daily stuff, that there should be News or editorals if there is no new shooting for a day – like “Great news! 5 Days in a row no one was shoot in (fill in your state). Are we getting normal?”"

Gun bans are all over the place. Every school. Most government buildings. Etc. By far gun bans outnumber the Anne Frank book ban.

Survivors and the families of the mass shooting at the Fed Ex facility in Indianapolis have sued the manufacturer and distributor of the gun magazine. Legislators don’t want to take needed measures, sue companies making and selling war weapons to the public into oblivion.

If you took a hardback copy of The Diary of Anne Frank and threw it as hard as you could and hit a someone just right you could kill that person. Then if you picked up the book and threw it again you might kill another person. But if everyone is armed with rapid fire weaponry loaded with body-shredding ammunition, that won’t happen. An armed society is a polite society, right?

Anne’s diary has been adapted as a graphic novel that is not as censored as the book. There are attempted bans ongoing in several school districts

Just for clarity, I looked to see if “The Diary of a Young Girl,” often referred to as The Diary of Anne Frank, has been banned. All I found was a Vero Beach, FL high school banned a graphic novel based upon her diary named “Anne Frank’s Diary, The Graphic Adaptation.”

That being said, by high school age kids shouldn’t be subjected to book bans, they are young adults and can get practically any info on their phones.

Sunday was the 106th day of 2023. Dadeville was the 163rd mass shooting of 2023. Someone above opined that there were too many gun bans. Apparently, we need many, many, more. Like, everywhere there are people.

I certainly agree with the premise that weapons of war need to be controlled and books encouraged, but the “Anne Frank” book that was banned was a graphic adaptation which depicted young Anne as a lesbian exploring naked sensations with another young teen. Hard to get outraged about that not being in school libraries.

Some think they need that AR-15 to protect themselves from Ann Frank. Sad

Coming from my perspective, it looked to me as if Deering were saying that there are more attempts to ban books than to ban guns, and that book bans are a bad thing. But having considered some of Deering’s other works, I wonder if he doesn’t mean to say that, despite what people like me think, there are actually more attempts to ban assault weapons than to ban books, and that banning guns is a bad thing. I haven’t seen enough of his editorial cartoons to have a firm opinion.

I looked to see if l’il Donny made a reference to Anne Frank in the past. What i did find was a quote from her stepsister, Eva Schloss, linked to subsequent things on Insider Business.

The Holocaust survivor Eva Schloss has said Donald Trump “obviously admired Hitler.”Trump’s former wife Ivana reportedly once said Trump kept a book of Hitler’s speeches near his bed.“If I had these speeches, and I am not saying that I do, I would never read them,” Trump said then.

Nice stickhandling buddy. Can you give a straight answer?

When you ban books before you ban guns, you’ve admitted you’re more afraid of children learning than you are of them dying.

One can be used in self-defense against those in our society who are deranged and purposely target “gun free” zones, and Anne Frank was killed without a chance to defend herself against the deranged of her time…

I’ve been around weapons almost my whole life and never had one “assault” me… The term “assault weapon” is simply a political term for almost any modern firearm…

Like the 1st amendment, the 2nd amendment is for our benefit. Don’t let the liberals or politicians tell you otherwise.

Government made “gun free” zones to make it easier for the mentally deranged in our society to easily find and kill their prey of choice. You’ll notice that in ATL the emphasis is on the guns used instead of the criminals, ATL is just another victim of their liberal prosecutorial staff!

The issue isn’t guns as much as it is failure of parental responsibility and supervision and the direct actions of our government that provides “soft” targets to these perpetrators! If Crazy Joe wants to protect our children and lessen gun violence, this is what he needs to do:1) Remove all “gun free zone” designations, he only has helped identify locations of easy targets for the mentally or criminally disturbed2) Hold parents accountable for their actions (or inactions) when it comes to ensuring their child can operate in society3) Provide mental health assistance to those who need it4) Remove their own armed security personnel and ensure the innocents are provided adequate armed security in their schools5) Hold criminals accountable and no more plea deals, make them pay the full price for their actions

I imagine the fact that Anneliese Frank doesn’t appear in the Constitution has some significance for the disparity.
