To introduce reality into comic strip biology. What those jellyfish do is more like a butterfly turning back into a caterpillar than reversing aging. Here’s my science fiction description of how the process might work on a human:
The skin becomes thick and leathery, tuning into a large bag. The limbs, head and internal organs are reduced to a nutrient jell which is used to feed the embryo which is formed from a lobe of the liver.
