When my wife and I got married, we had a lot of towels between the 2 of us

Most of the nicer ones have since been worn out, we are down to our personal favorites and a short stack of mystery towels

I dont waste much, the mystery towels will have their day

At 65, I am still using my bath towels from college – as car wash towels.

If they have been in the back of the linen for a long time then it wouldn’t hurt to wash then anyway.

We have those, when we reno-d the house we went to BB&B in Virginia and loaded up on several sets of a light grey towels. The hand towels were too small so we shopping for a matching colour. Even took a facecloth to match with. Easy-peasy? The bathroom has LED array lighting and those towels are very purple in there.

Mystery towels usually end up in my work bench.

My mystery towels are a beach towel I’m unsure how I acquired and the last remaining towel of an old set that escaped being thrown out with the others.

The mystery towels are the ones you only bring out when you expect guests.

We used beach towels for years after finding a really good buy at Walmart. Now my kids have their own homes and we have nice towel sets. Then I go to their houses, and there are the old beach towels. Their kids love them. The mystery is how they got out of my house!

They don’t MATCH the bathroom colors anymore!

I purged the linen closet a few years ago and sent all the mystery towels to the local animal hospital. EXCEPT for two really BIG bath sheets that I LOVE and will never part with, no matter how threadbare they are in spots!
