We are moving by the fall to a quieter location-well away from busy streets and freeway noise. Luckily we have met the neighbors and they tell me they are all quiet people.

I was just saying tonight how lucky we are to have bought in this tiny little street in suburban BC. Though there several families, everyone seems to shut down at sunset. Then it’s dead quiet.

Leafblowers are the Devil’s engine. We used to have a neighbor who hired a lawn crew which used leafblowers on her front yard full of small pebbles – they dinged and scratched our car, and twice they broke the glass in her front door!

So that’s what they call patios in Canada?

There are some rentals on the other side of our fence. I thought the little girls who scream all the time they are outside were bad, now there’s also a woman with three dogs who keep trying to dig under the fence.

We have a quiet neighbourhood…until the moron a few streets down gets on his motorcycle. There was a neighbour who LOVED to test his turbo-charged Beetle in the evenings, I think he got fined for that.

I don’t know. Something soothing about the sound of leaf blowers, mowers, trimmers, etc. Somewhere else off in the distance.

Another reason I love winter the most.
