The curse of Internet subscriptions; “It is so easy to sign up for a subscription service on the Internet but 100% impossible to unsubscribe.”

Best way, cancel the credit card……

I’ve just packed ALL my DVD’s and it took two large cartons. Was going to give them to the thrift shop, but if “no one uses DVD players”…oh, well, skeet-shooting, anyone?

I think the writing was on the wall when “Orange is the New Black” became a smash hit. I don’t have Netflix myself I should add but I would have loved to have seen that show since it has one of my favorite actresses in it—Kate Mulgrew, who I like a lot better for being Mrs. Columbo rather than Captain Janeway or Red (though she’s good at those roles as well).

@ddl297- They’re still around. That’s just like when CDs became popular and people were tossing out their vinyl. Then they became upset when #1, a lot of classic stuff they had on vinyl weren’t on CDs. And #2, vinyl has made a strong comeback over the last 10-20 years. In fact, I went to a DJ party a few months ago and the DJs in the opening set were spinning with vinyl. But if you still want to get rid of your DVDs, have you tried eBay or Amazon?

If you have a copy of “Cats” you should probably just break it with a hammer to keep it out to fit hands of more victims.

I’m bummed about this. I’ve had Netflix DVD for 20 years, rented close to 2500 movies. Some things you can’t find anywhere else you can get on Netflix.

I don’t think they care about unreturned DVDs. If you don’t return one, they don’t have to send another. Brutus could report it as missing anyway, and they will just take it off his list. I do watch DVDs from Netflix, and this is a sad change for me. There are some old shows I can get there that even my library doesn’t carry. I recently started The Jetsons, and I guess I won’t get very far.

Brutus, I suspect the late fees will be astronomical.

The early 21st century equivalent of unreturned library books. At least Gladys is more sanguine about it than Arlo on Arlo and Janis today.

They might as well, by the time you get it in the mail, it’s available to stream.

Don’t worry Flo, Netflix was probably glad you didn’t return “Cats”, that was one really bad movie.

I wonder if Netflix will convert all those dvd movies to streaming. There’s a lot of movies they don’t stream.

If you’ve got away with it for this long, I wouldn’t notify them as those late fees might be astronomical. “Let sleeping dogs lie”, comes to mind…..

And Brutus says, “I’m surprised they didn’t charge you for the dvd”. Gladys replies, “They did and I paid it but I was afraid to tell you about it at the time. Do you forgive me—-Darling?”…

This reminds me of when I hear of a celebrity passing away, and my reaction is, “I didn’t even know he was still alive.” My reaction here was, “Netflix still has a DVD-by-mail rental service?” I thought it went by the wayside long ago. A little googling tells me that it will end on September 29th.

I’ve been with Netflix from their beginning. I loved getting those little red envelopes in the mail. It was hard to let that go.
