I joined Twitter when it was fairly new, naively thinking that it would be a good way to get important news bulletins, alerts from local government, and status updates from people I knew. Perhaps it was (and is), but I quickly realized that it was too much trouble to sort out the important stuff from all the noise. I canceled my account, since I wasn’t going to be using it.

This is exactly why I left Twitter. It turned into the slums of the internet.

He’s not just Greg, he’s Greg with $8/month to give to a billionaire.

the real issue is that there are still people in the audience.

The reality is that believing either “Greg” or “a news organization” based on some for-profit corporation’s “check mark” is downright foolish and foolhardy. One must use critical thinking to listen for oneself and discern evidence of “truth,” and also more importantly what’s NOT being said by whatever source and why (unimportant? false? not fitting a desired narrative? boring?). Why should we have believed Twitter’s earlier squadron of “gatekeepers” or “truth arbiters” any more than the new team of lassiez-faire wranglers of the “Wild Wild West” of ideas and discourse?

It is incumbent upon EVERY thinker to be rightfully suspicious and skeptical of any and EVERY media source—even Sarah Andersen, in this case.

And not a good Greg.

This is the closest I get to Social Media. From what I have read and seen regarding Facebook, Twitter, etc. I don’t think I’m missing much. Besides, the first four letters in Twitter spells Twit.

Sarah cut away before Greg started his hour long rant about how woke culture is an Jewish communtist plot to groom children.

News organizations nowadays are as realiable as Greg.
