I feel the pain of the father in the second panel. I’m a Puerto Rican born in and reared in Newark, NJ. Even though English is my dominant language, I am fluent enough in Spanish that I can pass for a native Puerto Rican. That said, I’ve tried to instill the pride of my culture in my kids. My daughter if push comes to shove will speak the broken Spanish when she is cornered. She does not speak in Spanish to me or my wife when we ask in that language. My son has the deer caught in the headlights look when someone asks him a question in Spanish. So my grandchildren speak only my title in Spanish because I insist on it.
Heard a news report that a 2-seater Cessna had crashed in a cemetery in Texas. At the time of the report 30 bodies had been recovered. The pilot and copilot were helping with the search.
Technically you could use the word “aeroplano” too, but nobody uses it in daily language. But the small airplanes like that Cessna are called “avionetas”, while “avión” is used for the big ones.

I learned to fly in one of those. Great airplane, although I preferred my buddy’s Cessna 210 Centurion.

It appears Papi has regained his sense of intellectual superiority with his male ego intact.
